Cross media marketing is a collective term and includes various marketing tools that are coordinated with each other and function across all media.

The best example of cross-media marketing is the start at the point of sale (POS). Once the customer has been approached, data such as e-mail address or telephone number is collected. The sales funnel determines when and how the customer is intercepted and what the next steps are. Cross media marketing spans a large field and can be done from the personal approach in the supermarket, via e-mail, telephone, mail or radio/TV advertising.
